Linocut art; cards and calendars for a good cause

My first collaboration with a fellow illustrator. Alison and I wanted to make something creative, but both felt tied down with the computer. We craved something ‘real’. The buttery texture of linocutting was so satisfying we’ll likely be doing more in the near future.

This is a rare design project with no client, so we made our own client. Partial proceeds from the sale of the calendars is to be donated to Our Place.

Each month features a local, seasonal fruit or vegetable. Alison and myself each illustrated and cut linos for 6 months, alternating.

I designed:
January; Turnip
March; Apples
May; Fiddleheads
July; Tomatoes
September; Pears
November; Garlic

Alison designed:
February; cabbage
April; Asparagus
June; Peas
August; Radishes
October; Pumpkin
December; Brussels Sprouts

You can contact me directly if you are interested in purchasing a calendar while supplies last. They are also available at a few retail locations around Victoria.
