Graphic Design and Illustration for Driftwood Brewery’s Belle Royale

In Driftwood’s words ‘A pallet of malt, 900 pounds of Morello cherries + our Belgian yeast = Belle Royale!’. Belle’s a decadent lady with great taste. Her look is modeled after the artwork of Henri de Toulouse Lautrec , Toulouse Lautrec is best known for his role in shaping the look of the Moulin Rouge.

Belle’s label features hand drawn typography, referencing Toulouse Lautrec’s own hand lettering, and a tres belle lady. The elements are simple, keeping to the japanism trend of the era.

Belle Royale hit Victoria stores today, and sold out in many locations within a few hours. Wow! Everyone’s really excited about this one!
