It’s my birthday weekend, aaaaand, I’ve worked the last 5 or 6 weekends straight through. So I’d decided to take this one stricty to myself. We ate lots of comfort food and I indulged in new wools and knitting. Absurd knitting. I made a KRAKEN!! a deep sea mythological Kraken! Name’s Thor, he’s just a baby at 14.5 inches. I’ve been busting graphic design out all over the place lately, so it’s really really nice to (still being creative) give it a small rest. I’ve got so many awesome projects on the go… one came off press on Friday (Glasgow Precision Woodworks 36 page catalogue), and five more due for completion this coming week. Stay tuned.. There’s a new Driftwood beer label, some Chocolate bar label wraps for Organic Fair, a Door hanger for a realtor, and that infamous ‘How to grow Winter Harvest Vegetables’ calendar, Also a number of shirts and hats being screenprinted and embroidered from Mega Screens.
But, I’ll share all the juicy details when each one is delivered and photographed.. Back to Thor, the Kraken. He’s sitting on a lovely stack of bookshelf samplings. The Make- from the community arts council of Victoria, Stitch ‘n bitch- by Debbie Stoller, Naughty Needles- Nikol Lohr, Complete Feltmaking- Gillian Harris, Felt forward- Maggie Pace and an issue of IdN- the craft issue. Love love love all these books and authors!

Hello Kracken! How do you like life so far? Am I your Grandma? You’re pretty cute anyway. You should take up music, you could be a one man band. Bye for now. Love Barb
